Breast Cancer Awareness Day

Breast Cancer Awareness Day will be held this Friday, 31st October. As we did previously for World AIDs Day, we will be selling ribbons (pink) for 20Kc, at the faculty.

To commemorate the day, PEPA would like to request students to not only help by donating money to charity, but it would have a nice feel to the day, if we could all wear something pink on the day. First year's tour of hospital [PICS]

Hello everyone,

Today the first years went on a tour of the faculty hospital, where they got to see ultrasound, ECG, and the heliport on top of the surgery building.

I have to admit there were some problems, because we didn't have enough people to take care of all the students (sorry guys) but I offer my deepest gratitude to:

Dr Vaclavik, Cardiologist in Internal medicine, and easily the nicest doctor in the hospital! He made everything possible for the students.

This is for people who know absolutely nothing about the USMLE (info provided is for step 1, other steps are similar):

USMLE stands for United States Medical Licensing Examination

It is a computer based MCQ exam

It lasts for up to eight hours, with one hour break for the whole day

There are 336 questions in the exam

The exam covers most of the subjects of the first three years of medschool here at Palacky

You need a minimum of appx 75% to pass the exam

I used these books as my main study source during my first two years here to study Anatomy. They certainly contain more than enough detail for your examination, however I would recommend that you do not use these books as your only study source.
